Born in Sydney, Australia, Trent was fortunate to obtain a Green Card and moved to New York  in May 2018.

Most recently Trent appeared as Pete/Ensemble in CRAZY FOR YOU at Ogunquit Playhouse, Directed by Angelique Ilo and featuring Susan Stroman's Tony Award Winning original Choreography. He has previously been seen in Ogunquit Playhouse's production's of TOOTSIE THE MUSICAL (Ensemble and understudied the roles of Jeff and Ron), Directed by Larry Raben and Choreographed by Jennifer Rias. As well as ANNIE (Ensemble), directed and choreographed by James Rocco and 42ND STREET (Ensemble), directed and choreographed by Randy Skinner. 

Trent made his New York debut choreographing FIFTY MILLION FRENCHMEN, THE DECLINE AND FALL OF THE ENTIRE WORLD AS SEEN THROUGH THE EYES OF COLE PORTER and PANAMA HATTIE for The York Theatre Company as part of their Musicals in Mufti series. 

Prior to moving to New York, Trent worked extensively for Opera Australia serving as the Assistant Director on their landmark productions of LA BOHEME and CARMEN. Both of which were performed as part of Opera Australia's annual Handa Opera On Sydney Harbour season on a purpose built stage on Sydney Harbour with the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge and Skyline framing the set and making it an international must see event.

 

Trent has also worked for Opera Australia as the Assistant Director and Dance/Movement Assistant on TURANDOT and as the Dance/Movement Assistant on LA TRAVIATA, both at the Sydney Opera House.

He was privileged to choreograph a production of ME AND MY GIRL at the Hayes Theatre Co. and to work as the Associate/Resident Director on the Australian premiere of HEATHERS THE MUSICAL at the Sydney Opera House.

Trent got his break working at the New Theatre, Sydney's oldest continually producing theatre company, choreographing their acclaimed productions of SWEENEY TODD, PRIVATES ON PARADE, THE HEIDI CHRONICLES and MOTHER CLAP'S MOLLY HOUSE.

 

In 2016 the New Theatre invited Trent back to direct and choreograph the classic Australian musical  SUMMER RAIN which received rave reviews and a sell out season, quickly establishing him as one of Australia's most promising up-and-coming director and choreographers. 

In addition to his theatre work, Trent is a sought after Tap Teacher. Having spent 10 years teaching at Sydney Dance Company in Sydney, Australia and prior to that for 2 years at DanceWorks in London's West End, he has had students go on to perform roles in the West End as well as on Australian and International Tours of musicals such as The Book Of Mormon, Mary Poppins and White Christmas to name a few. Trent is available for classes and workshops.
